Lake observations: The usual critters are on/in the lake – ducks and turtles. Vegetation looks normal for the end of October. Our section of Dallas County remains “Abnormally Dry,” according to the Texas Drought Monitor website. With the recent rain, the lake level is pretty standard. We received 2.29 inches over the previous three days. Nitrates and nitrites are at 0 ppm, which is good. Phosphates are at the lowest level that can be detected: 5 ppm. The lake water isn’t as straightforward as it usually is. The rain we just had probably washed some dirt into the lake.
