The Semi-annual ILA Lake cleanup was held on Saturday, April 6, 2024. It was a cool morning, ~64 degrees, and very windy! This made it very difficult for boats on the water to navigate and collect trash. There were 18 volunteers who worked 4 hours each. After the 72 manhours of work, 460 pounds of trash was taken to the landfill, along with 3 bags of recycling material weighing 50 pounds. The total for the day was 510 pounds. Even with this small group of volunteers, it was good to get this amount of trash out of our lake. Breakfast was brought in from Chick-fil-A, and lunch from Mr. Jim’s Pizza, along with water and ice for a total spent of $364.93. Thank you to all those who participated to help keep our lake beautiful.
