National Night Out was a great success. Approximately 100 people from the South Irving community came and went throughout the night. The Local fire station, Fire Station #5 came and educated the kids along with letting them climb all over the fire truck. Our beat officer from the Irving Police Department made an appearance to show IPD support.
With the support of our sponsors Target, State Farm Insurance and Pizza Hut, there was plenty of food and entertainment to go around. Pizza Hut provided pizzas. Target supplied and cooked hot dogs, chips and drinks. They also gave away door prizes. State Farm had plenty of give aways along with a Grand Prize Drawing for an Apple IPOD, which went to Hanna Beauchamp.

The kids ate up the snow cones then burned up the sugar rush in the bounce house, running through the park, playing ball and hula hooping.
National Night Out is designed to:
1. Heighten Crime and Drug prevention awareness 2. Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs 3. Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships 4. Send a message to criminals that we as a community are fighting back.
