March 11, 2021, Begins the Start of 28 years for the Lake Vilbig Bass Club Established in 1993 Back in the early days of tournament fishing, there was a rapidly growing interest in the sport. Information was limited on how, where, and when to catch Bass. One of the best ways to learn was by belonging to a Bass Club. By knowing this, some avid fisherman on Lake Vilbig planned and organized a Bass Club. That club became known as Vilbig Bass Club. The object of creating the club was for members to enjoy the sport by learning from other fishermen while at the same time competing and enjoying the benefits of being in a Bass Club. Both previous and presently active club members have benefited over the years by having been a part of the Vilbig Bass Club. The same concepts still apply now as they did in the beginning. The doors to the future are always open to new members, and as always, old members are always welcome back. Only $40.00 per family. Feel free to come on March 11, 7:30 pm 2005 Pearl Lane Rick Hoffman's home, listen, learn and then sign up to join. The entire family is welcome. *Any person residing in a household that is a member of the Irving Lake Association and in good standing and embraces the club’s purpose is eligible to become a member. Another great year with the Vilbig Bass Club! In place of the Annual VBC Tom & Bev Root Memorial Banquet, we held a small Covid-friendly gathering to hand out the 2020 season awards. *Congratulations to Brandon Wooddell Angler of the Year (his 5th) *Rick Huffman won Sportsman of the Year *Jaxon Phillips won Most Improved Angler *Brandon Wooddell and cousin David Alley caught the biggest team stringer * Matt Shelley weighed the largest 3 fish limit as well as the year’s big bass A great site to see the history of the Lake Vilbig Bass Club kept up by Al Kohutek. Lake Vilbig vs Georgia
Jon & Al are walking down the street in Atlanta, and they see a sign on a store that reads, "Suits $5.00 each! Shirts $2.00 each, Pants $2.50 each.
Jon says to his pal, "Al, Look here! We could buy a whole gob of these, take 'em back to the Lake Vilbig Bass Club Garage sell, and make a fortune for the Bass Club Stocking. Al, just let me do the talkin' 'cause if they hear your accent, they might think we're ignorant and not wanna sell that stuff to us. Now, I'll talk in a slow Georgia drawl so's they don't know we are from the Lake ..."
They go in, and Jon says with his best fake Georgia drawl, "I'll take 50 of them suits at $5.00 each, 100 of them there shirts at $2.00 each, 50 pairs of them there pants at $2.50 each. I'll back up my pickup and...."
The owner of the shop interrupts, "Ya'll from Vilbig, ain’t ya?"
"Well....yeah," says a surprised Jon...."How come you knowed that?
"Because this is dry-cleaners."
