This letter is to talk about our April 2024 management efforts. I came out once in.

April the 24th. We always need the rain and boy, have we gotten it. The lake is full.

September 2023

This letter discusses our September 2023 management efforts. I came out once in September on the 27th. Overall, things look really good. At least it has cooled down some, not much, but some. What we need is rain and a lot of it. I was shocked at the lake level. It appears to be 2-2.5 feet low. The volleyball court is almost out of the water. I had to be careful navigating some areas of the lake. Some areas on the north end where the alligator weed grows were out of water. It has been a few years since I have seen it that low.

August 2023

This letter is to talk about our August 2023 management efforts. I came out once in August on the 30th. Overall, things look really good. I don’t know that there is a lot to say. Summer in August in Texas is not a lot of fun. Especially 2023. Breaking records for days above 100 F and days above 105 F, just plain miserably hot outside.

On the 30th. Again, the water temps were just hot. I measured water temps of 88 and 90 F all around the lake. We have to stay diligent when water temps are this high. Everything is just trying to survive. That’s about all creatures can do when temperatures get this unbearable. We had some fish activity. That is a good thing. This letter is to discuss our July 2023 management efforts. I came out once in July on the 26th. Overall, things look perfect. It’s July: at least the first part of June was nice. It isn’t so lovely outside currently.
