LAKE VILBIG FALL CLEAN UP by Cecilia Zhou Dusek

Volunteers picked up 1,600 pounds of trash, including a dead cat, an enormous tire, two chairs, and 12 balls. Pictured is a “tug of war” between volunteers and a gigantic log!

There were 19 fantastic volunteers: Andy Jia, Wang Ping, Mel Hodges, Tim Casbeer, Matt Shelley, John Mikalik, John Murazak, Hanna Beauchamp, Cecilia Dusek, Brad Dusek, Matthew Chittatil, Ann Chittatil, Hunter Ball, Peter Kang, Brandon Wooddell, Luke Wooddell, Pierce Johnston, Anderson Johnston, Jerry Mullendore.

Keep Irving Beautiful provided lots of cleanup supplies- thank you!

In addition, volunteers performed a detailed inventory of the ILA supplies in the shed and did a massive clean-out of items that had been there for years. This list will be shared with the social committee for future event planning.

We had breakfast from Chick-fil-A (fruit cups, chicken minis, spicy chicken and sausage biscuits, coffee, and tea) and lunch from Mr. Jim’s Pizza (pepperoni, sausage, and cheese pizzas)

Thank you to all of those who showed up today. We hope to see more volunteers at our Spring Clean-Up next year!!
